SEO is the business of designing and amending a website so it appears as high as possible in the non-paid search results of the search engines.

It is a vast topic that is ever evolving and comes with no guarantees. The search engines do not reveal exactly how they rank websites. Google as well as the other search engines have a secret formula (called an algorithm) made up of over 200 factors that determines where a website will rank.

No one can offer guarantees on getting high placements. If you ever see a claim like this...

“we guarantee we can get you on the first page of Google” then this is simply not true.

To simplify a highly complex area - the three most accepted factors for SEO are:

  Unique website content that is relevant and informative

  Use of relevant keywords on the page and in the code
